VADODARA: Experts from Isreal and other countries are expected to attend at an international seminar on ''world safety'' scheduled here from November 28 to 30. The seminar is being organised by the Sci Institute of Security and Safety Management, a registered charitable trust.
Managing trustee Suresh Chandra Shukla told newsmen that the seminar will encompass vigilance, security, management of crisis and disasters, investigation and fire safety.
It will also focus on terrorism in the new millenium, security system for refineries, airport and aviation security, threat from bombs/ improvised explosive devices, fire science and technology, corporate investigation, industrial espionage and information security.
This will be the first international seminar to cover such a wide range of topics, Shukla added. Moreover, Israeli expertise will be a big help for the participants. "There is a lot to learn from them and especially qualities like speed and meticulous planning," he said. Shukla said that there is urgent need to create awareness among people staying in high-rise and multi-storeyed buildings.
The institute runs short-term commando course to equip men for emergencies like man-made violence and natural calamities.
The institute has also sought the state home department''s approval to form a mini-commando force to tackle terrorism in the state. So far the institute has recieved permission to buy 40 rifles to train the youth in the state, Shukla claimed.
